Crew Sent To Conshohocken Building Fire:

In the early morning hours of Thursday August 14th the pagers were set off for the County Taskforce to report to the Home Depot in Exton and then proceed Conshohocken to assist on the 8 alarm building fire that had ignited the night before.  Earlier the night before Chief 25 and Chief 36 had conversed and set up a crew with 3 of our members two of Longwood's members and 2 of Kennett's members to take Engine 25-1(Longwood) Down to the scene. 

 

Two Calls for the Day:

As some of the crew was sleeping from the late night before.  We were dispatched for the Utility to assist the Ambulance on an Equestrian Accident at 08:02.  The Tac and Utility responded and when we arrived we placed the Utility along with the med-bed into service and drove about .5 miles across a field and down a steep hill then through a creek.  The crew arrived and assisted the Ambulance crew with packaging then placing the patient onto the Utility and transported him back to the Ambulance. 

 

Busy Evening:

Wednesday proved to be a busy one for the volunteers.  The evening started off at 16:35 when the company was hit out for wires on East Street Road in the area of Route 82.  Chief 36 responded and arrived in the area with nothing evident.  Rescue 36(w/8) responded and arrived to investigate.  After a few minutes units cleared as nothing was found.

 

Standby in West Chester:

On Wednesday July 2nd Engine 36 was dispatched to relocate to Goodwill Fire Company of West Chester (Station 52).  Engine 36 responded minutes after dispatch with a crew of six. 

 

Reported Shed Fire:

As the crew from training was getting something to drink at the Station.  Stations 36, 39(West Bradford), 37(Modena), Ladder 43(Coatesville) were dispatched to the 100 block of Brandywine Creek Road for an outbuilding.  Chief 36, Engine 36(w/6)  and Tanker 36 made the response 3 minutes after dispatched and were advised it was a possible shed on fire.

 

Monday Night Training:

For Monday night training crews piled in the Engine and Rescue and traveled to New Bolton Center to practice laying large diameter hose from a hydrant and flowing from the Engine to the deck gun.

 

Accident with Confinement:

On Saturday June 21st at 21:57 Station 36 and Micu 25 were dispatched to Lenape Unionville Road and Marlboro Springs road for an Auto Accident.  Chief 36 and Micu 25 responded followed by Rescue 36 a few minute later.  The report was given that there was unknown injuries.  Chief and The Micu arrived to find one patient confined in the back seat. 

 

Saturday Training:

On Saturday June 14th members from Po-Mar-Lin, Longwood, and Kennett Fire Companies.  took a tour of the three schools in our first run district.  We spent about an hour and a half at each school looking for any possible hazards and all the mechanical rooms where there is possibility of have a problem and different ways to shut things down throughout the buildings.  Thanks to the Unionville-Chadds Ford District staff that led the tour.

 

Brush Fire:

On Friday afternoon at 1320 Station 36 and Brush 25(due to Tac 36 being out of service) were dispatched to Route 82 north of Newark Rd. for brush.  Engine 36 as well as Chief 36 responded and arrived on scene to find a small brush fire burning.  Brush 25 arrived and drove down through the field and extinguished the pile.  All units cleared a little while later.

 

Busy 24 Hours:

Tuesday Turned out to be a busy day for the company.  In the Afternoon we were dispatched to 926 east of West Street Rd.  Chief 36 responded followed by Rescue 36 a minute later with a crew of 6.  Chester advised it was now going to be in Station 25's local but 36 units proceeded in due to already being on the street. 

Monday Evening accident:

On Monday Evening at 2051 Station 36 along with 23 Ambulance were dispatched to the 900 Block of Route 841 for an Auto Accident.  The Rescue truck was Just pulling Back into Station from Drivers Training and made the response with 8 at 2053. 

 

Parade and 3 Calls:

On Saturday June 7th the Rescue and Tac made the trip to West Chester for Goodwill's 175th Anniversary and parade.  Units arrived at the judging area around 0900.  The two trucks were judged almost instantly.  While they were being judge the ones were hit out for a wires call at West Doe Run Road and route 842. 

 

Motorcycle Accident:

On Sunday May 25th at 1722 our company along with MICU 25 were dispatched to Route 82 and Route 842 for a motorcycle accident.  As the MICU 25-1 and Rescue 36 responded we were advised the caller had called back and said he had given the wrong location and it was actually located at Route 82 and Route 841.  The Rescue, Tac and MICU proceeded in that direction.

Po-Mar-Lin Fire Company Serves Communities in East and West Marlborough, Pocopson and Newlin Townships. The department is 100% volunteer all of the time.  We operate 6 pieces of Apparatus consisting of a 1989 Pierce Lance Pumper, a 2005 Pierce Quantum Rescue/Pumper, a 2003 Peterbuilt/4-Guys Tanker, a 1999 Ford F-550 Attack Unit, a 2007 John Deere Gator Utility and a 1990 Ford L8000 Air Truck.  The Chief also drives a 2004 Ford Expedition.   Our company responds to around 250 calls every year.  Our duty is to protect life and preserve property in our surrounding community.
